| PURAM 60, 70 AND PURAM PLASTER Puram is a chemically bonded high alumina mouldable refractory which can be easily rammed and formed to the shape required. It has good stability at temperature and can be used up to operating temperatures of 1650C. APPLICATIONS
Puram can be rammed by hand or mechanical rammer behind a former which should be well secured and coated with a release agent. A very dense stable lining can be obtained by this method. It is essential to obtain a good 'key' when bonding to other refractory materials e.g. capping an induction furnace lining. Adequate venting is recommended. In order to achieve the full dried strength it is necessary to apply heat as soon as possible after installation. Puram products (60 and 70) are suitable for use with all alloys i.e. low temperature non-ferrous to high temperature steel. Puram is also available as a plaster, a finer soft plastering compound. Puram Plaster can be applied by hand or trowel. All Puram products are packed in plastic buckets or bags - size 25Kg. |
